HIDDEN HUNGER

HIDDEN HUNGER

Did you know that most of our physical and mental dis-eases stem from micronutrient deficiencies?

When the body is deficient in one or more of these trace minerals or vitamins, our basic physiological functions (such as metabolism, immune functioning, development etc...) all become compromised. This can lead to detrimental health issues including autoimmune disease, mental health issues, and chronic illness.

THE HIDDEN HUNGER

Our Western diet of high-calorie, low-nutrient-dense food is a great cause for our hidden hunger (vitamin and mineral deficiency). We tend towards more processed foods, pesticide-ridden fruit and veggies, as well as little to no wild food consumption.

Studies have shown a steady decline in the vitamin and mineral content of our fruit and vegetables due to our current industrial agricultural practices that strip minerals from the soil and do not allow for mineral and nutrient recovery. The overuse of chemical fertilisers further reduces the richness of our soil and therefore the quality of its produce.

Agricultural practices have been prioritising size, growth rate, and pest resistance over nutritional value. They say we need to consume 8 to 10 times the amount of fruit and vegetables our grandparents did to get the same amount of nutritional benefit.

Have no fear though... Wild Nettle is here.

How do we ensure we are getting all the trace minerals and vitamins that we need?

Our wild weeds are specifically chosen for their exceptional sources of micronutrients. Drinking wild weed infusions is one of the best-kept secrets to a thriving lifeSome of our allies, such as nettle, have the highest amount of nutrition found in any plant in the entire plant kingdom (even more minerals than green algae!)

Making an infusion of wild weeds ensures that these minerals are bioavailable and easily absorbed by the body.
